The Daughters of the American Revolution, through its American Indians Committee, assists in the education of Indian youth through scholarships and sponsorship of higher education institutions for the American Indian.
Good citizenship and love of country are taught at all of these schools. Achievement of the students enrolled in the DAR Schools is tremendous, as is the support of their academics by members of NSDAR. |

As part of our effort to promote education, we REWARD ACHIEVEMENT:
Through restoring historic properties, commemorating patriots and soldiers through marking of graves, placing historical markers in public places to mark the service of local patriots, funding scholarships, supporting classrooms, donating supplies to schools, and supporting our troops, DAR makes a difference in local communities. The Daughters of Chief Colbert Chapter NSDAR certainly do their part in clocking innumerable hours in public service on the local and state level. A major emphasis during all that service is supporting students at Kate Duncan Smith DAR School in Grant, Alabama. We love those students.
We promise you we will always celebrate students and teachersMany of our Chief Colbert Chapter NSDAR members have spent time in the classroom and/or administration of schools on all levels and in all subject areas. All of us have been parents and our children, grandchildren, or great-grandchildren have matriculated through the school systems. Education is something that our chapter promotes. A good education provides a strong foundation for students to become good citizens who carry forward the history of our great nation. It is our hope and prayer that we influence students to become better citizens, to become more patriotic, and to become an integral part of history themselves.
